Brianna Alexander is a sparkplug on the court for the Muskegon High School girls basketball team.

In the MLive Muskegon Chronicle player of the week fan poll, she was the leader of the pack.

Alexander is the winner of the weekly poll, for games played Jan. 14-19. She finished with 15,333 of 49,387 total votes, good for 31.05 percent.

Lizzie Cammenga of Fruitport Calvary Christian garnered 11,791 votes, followed by Ludington’s Mackenzie Howe with 10,173.

Mona Shores’ Riley Rosenthal was fourth in voting with 5,605, followed by Mason County Central’s Jeffery Carrier fifth with 1,860 votes.

Alexander, a 5-foot-2 senior guard, helped Muskegon win a pair of games last week. In Tuesday’s 56-37 win at Reeths-Puffer, Alexander had 14 points and five assists. In Friday’s 63-48 win over Jenison, she did a little bit of everything with 11 points, four boards and two steals.
