MUSKEGON — You might say that the Muskegon High School basketball team got a running start during Saturday’s 78-37 rout of a solid Oak Park squad in the Floyd Mayweather Classic.
With Jarvis Walker added to the lineup for the first time Tuesday night, the Big Reds instantly became much more difficult to stop.
The 6-foot-2 junior guard impressed in his Muskegon debut, scoring a team-high 19 points in an efficient shooting display to lead the Big Reds to a 79-49 victory over visiting Mona Shores at Redmond-Potter Gymnasium.
Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh and new offensive coordinator Josh Gattis were on hand for the game, making a recruiting stop in Muskegon.
Muskegon improves to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the OK Black Conference. Mona Shores falls to 2-9 and 1-3, respectively.
