MUSKEGON – When you’re a football coach, the job never ends.
When you’re Shane Fairfield, head coach for the Muskegon Big Reds, you just transition from the regular season to the postseason to the recruiting season, and so on.
College coaches have been making the rounds in recent days, and Muskegon High School has been a popular spot. Between visits from said coaches or phone calls, Fairfield has been a busy man.
A total of four more Division I scholarship offers were extended to Muskegon players on Wednesday: Junior Cameron Martinez, the 2018 MLive Football Player of the Year, received two in the morning – first from Minnesota, then from Purdue. His offer list now numbers 15,including nine from Power Five programs.
Meanwhile, Big Reds freshmen Myles Walton and Demetrius Walker received their first offers, both from Central Michigan.
