Game Recap

The Muskegon Big Reds came up empty while hosting Kenowa Hills H.S. in soccer action Thursday evening.
The game was evenly matched throughout, and remained at a 0-0 tie at halftime due to a penalty kick save by Muskegon Goalkeeper Aaron Blackwell.
The second half saw scoring chances for both teams, but remained scoreless until the closing minutes, when Kenowa was able to find the back of the net.
“It was as tough way to lose one” commented Muskegon Coach Jeff Holmes. “We had played a pretty solid game until the final two minutes, we just lost our focus for a second and that’s all it takes sometimes.”
Kenowa Hills was awarded a free kick just outside the penalty box, with just under two minutes remaining. Kenowa alertly took the free kick quickly before the Muskegon defense and keeper were ready and netted the game winner.
Muskegon falls to 0-9 in the OK Black Conference. Muskegon will visit Muskegon Catholic in a non-conference matchup this Saturday.
