Meet Recap

The Big Reds traveled to Wildcat country to compete in this year’s OK Black Wrestling Championships. Entering the tournament, were defending conference champions, Marcus Murar and Dovell Wilson. And the two seniors did not disappoint. Marcus Murar moved up a weight class and defeated Jenison’s TD Trice in a tight 9 to 7 match to be crowned the hundred-thirty-five pound champion. And Dovell Wilson downed Reeths-Puffer’s Tylor Skinner to avenge an early season loss. Wilson won an exciting 4 to 2 match to win the heavyweight crown. Also, the two made school history by becoming the first two-time conference champions. As a team the Big Reds finished in sixth place.
The Big Reds will be in action on Wednesday when they travel to Orchard View to take on the Cardinals to open Team Districts.
